Here is a site we designed for our good friend Rainer Lipski.
Rainer is a Director of Photography who splits his time between Berlin and LA. We have been threatening doing something with him a few times. We would actually love to work with him, but the right project or the right timing never seemed to be there. But we will and we will let you know about it!
For now you can check his showreel out on lipski.tv

We have just completed our biggest project to date. Was-uns-antreibt.de
The project is for the BVR (Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken), a cooperative bank here in Germany. We where approached by Heimat and TriggerHappyProductions to come up with a website and banner campaign for the upcoming rebranding of the bank. Heimat had developed a new communication strategy for the BVR. They produced (with TriggerHappy) a 45min documentary about everyday people and the drive/motivation that got them out of bed every morning. Hence the title of the post. Taking the usual percentage banks talk about to a second level and focusing on the individuals that make the bank possible.
Our site was part of a national campaign including, print and Tv.
So a big thumbs up to everyone that has made this project possible. The road has been, long, sometimes bendy but the over all feeling is that of happiness to have completed it and to have had the chance to work side by side with some great people.
You can see the site here.
And the banners here.

Ok - today is a funny day in general - but just right now we received this email from Amazon and it really made us laugh hard - so we thought we would share it with the world out there.
So - it´s an email in which amazon sends you recommendations for what to buy for Mothers Day this Year - cause its soon!
First thing in the list: A SHAVER FOR MEN from Braun, Phillips… - WTF?
Second, third thing in the list: TOOTH-PRODUCTS. Ok - better - this women can also use, but whose mum did such a bad job that she deserves tooth-products for the Mothers-Day?
Next things on the list: hair straightener, next a range of bandages and finally a product to remove the hairs from your leg………. hmm - not really nice either. See the screenshot below lol.

I think we stick to the good old flowers!

Mike Mills showed his work in Berlin at the Pool Gallery. The show is a kind of retrospect of Mills visual universe. The images, stories that shaped his way of seeing the world and influenced his work. A lot of pieces are centered around 1971 the year Mills turned 5 and thus real memory started for him. Here at fried-onions we are fans of Mill’s works, and the capacity he has to switch from one medium to another in what seems an effortless action. So no need to say we enjoyed the show.

A bit late - but very proudly we present you the people who show their work in our calendar yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Lets start with yesterday. She is called Conchita Fornieles and actually its very hard to put into words how she is. Imagine explosive-colorful-happy-funny-gay-crazy-living-breathing comic-tragedy-flower-diamond - or something like that. Just check out her blog, then you will know what i mean.
Besides all this, she is also a really talented writer and filmmaker.
Today you can view the work of Cristian Zuzunaga who is an amazing typographer who is capable of bringing spirituality into kerning. He is based in London and hopefully we see him soon here in Berlin.

Tomorrow we take the day off - but if you are in front of the computer you can find the work of Paula Mourenza in the frame of the 14th. Paula is a copywriter, creative director, wine-lover, tea-lover, beer-lover and overall a really good friend. A big kiss to her.

Today we share with you the work of an amazing graphic designer, Mark Brooks. We have worked together in the past, and it has always been a pleasure to work with him. Let’s hope the future brings more collaborations. He currently splits his time between New York and Barcelona, and we are hoping he will have the time to come and visit us in Berlin.

Today you we can enjoy the contribution of a great programar and a dear friend of ours Alba G. Corral. She is a processing magician who loves the lines of code with which she create beautiful line compositions. She also does live visuals with processing and sure knows how to have a great time at these gigs. Enjoy!
